Mr. Kelly Ehalt

East Central Alberta Catholic School Division is pleased to welcome Mr. Kelly Ehalt as the new Assistant Superintendent. Kelly’s wealth of experience and expertise comes from Christ The Redeemer School Division, where for the last twenty-four years, he worked in Brooks, Alberta, as an educator and school administrator at every level of K-12. He completed his B.Ed. in 1996 at the University of Saskatchewan and obtained a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership in 2011 from the University of Lethbridge.

Kelly has led his staff through a school-wide initiative to serve English Language Learners (ELL), transforming the school community instructional and assessment practices to support a student population consisting of over 60% ELL students. Kelly has a consistent track record of improving student academic achievement regardless of the complex learning requirements. Under Kelly's leadership, Christ The King School has become a model for ELL programming in his division and province.

His passion for providing foundational excellence is centred around on three incredibly important Catholic schools' pillars. First, we are all called to foster and permeate an authentic Catholic faith-filled learning experience. Secondly, we must work towards improving teaching pedagogy and methodologies to enhance student academic rigor and success. Thirdly, we must create and sustain safe and caring learning environments where all students, staff, and parents are respected and loved as images of Christ.

Kelly and his wife, Sheri, are looking forward to starting a new chapter in their life and moving to the east-central Alberta region. They have two daughters, Kiana, a registered nurse in Saskatoon, and Talia, who is in her second year of the Education Program at Medicine Hat College.

We are looking forward to embracing Kelly's passion, gifts, and talents to support quality Catholic education in East Central Alberta Catholic Schools.
